Photo Birthday Card

Decided to do something different for my granddaughters b'day this year. Besides creating the digital scrapbook I wanted to take one of my favorite photos of her and create a different sort of birthday card. I enlarged the photo and dressed it to give it a paper doll feel. You can see in the second image that the skirt is also the actual card. If you click on the first image you will be able to see the embellished detail.

Digital Montage

This is a Montage of my granddaughter using photos taken over the holidays. I love experimenting with photos for unique results.

Different Sort of Layout

This is the first time I've used shapes for the backing of a layout. I plan to put a ribbon on this for hanging. The backing is acrylic and although I've not used it in the usual way, it accomplished my vision.

Altered Notebook

I altered a blank notebook for my desk. I used K & Co. papers and various embellishments. I love creating these for gifts also. Over the next few days I will be posting a gift set of Covered Post It Note pads which make fabulous gifts and work up very quickly.

Digital 8x8 Album

Here is a digital book I created for my almost 4 yr old granddaughter. It won't have any glued pieces falling off if she should handle it roughly and any page that might get damaged can be easily reprinted. I printed it in 8x8 and placed it in a regular album for her to carry around.

You don't have to create digital pages to accomplish this, you can simply print your paper layouts in 8x8 if you wish to give a child their own book. I have 2 paper layouts in this group which I printed in 8x8 to add to her book.

The first page is the cover, the other pages I grouped in lots of 4 for the blog.

New Direction, New Blog

Finally, I've begun a new journey, so I thought it appropriate to begin a new Blog. It will be both paper and digital as well as lots of altered work and cards. I will also be creating and sharing with you a catalog of products I will be creating for a fall sale here in my garage for the holidays. I used to do that regularly and did very well, and I am now ready to, 'start over', I guess is the best way to put it. So look for a potpourri, of this and that, over the next weeks.

The first project I want to share is of one of my cats, Miss Sissy.

Miss Sissy enjoys scrapping as much as I do. She has her own unique way of personally developing techniques. She is very grunge oriented and loves the shredded detail it results in. An example of her work is shown on the green border and in the flower center under the brad heart which are the bits she shredded from the border strip.
